Hi.What do you think is the best ribbon editor?I was using the latest Custom UI Editor, but found too many bugs and limitations in it.I tried RibbonX Visual Designer (and I liked the interface, but the interface froze when I maximized it and worse it constantly crashed my project (PowerPoint).I looked at Ribbon Customizer (but not sure it's for me.I installed and have begun using Office 2007 Ribbon Editor (So far I like it the best. It's simple but it's not buggy (so far). It's not built for 2010, but a new version is in the works.(I'm not using 2010 exclusive features anyway.)Anyone know of other editors? Thanks,Melina. This is the same one created/mentioned by Gunter Avenius, and now that he's seen the need for PowerPoint support, perhaps it will eventually be included?I realize you need one for PowerPoint, and this one doesn't claim that ability, but I'll mention it as a possible for future reference. 2007 and 2010 support is available for Word, Excel and Access. There is a Shareware version available that restrictedto two tabs, three groups and ten controls. The full featured version is $43.50 USD.Links to IDBE Ribbon Creator:I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.

At a priceHowever you can create ribbons in Notepad.A programmers editor such as Ultra Edit offers a bit more in the way of syntax checking, but expects you to know something about the syntax first. What bugs are you finding in the Office 2007 Custom UI editor?

I'm not sure which editor you're asking about as to the bugs because the names are similar. Office 2007 Ribbon Editor from brazucanet.net has been great so far. No bugs that I've found and it has a number of nice features. It has a comment command, recentfiles, and search.
(All simple things, but nice to have and things missing from Custom UI Editor.) It even will save callbacks into a BAS file to open in the VBA editor. And it's free. They have not yet released their 2010 version, but that's fine for me fornow. The Custom UI Editor most people mention was frustrating. Between bugs and lack of features, I switched from it.
The coding editor has a bug where it scrolls up and then back down if more than a screen of code is there, and does that every time you typea character making it impossible to code. The undo doesn't work. It doesn't tab like normal editors.
Lines don't wrap like they should. From reading online I know I'm not the only one who's noticed these issues. What editor do you use?-Melina. The Office 2007 UI Editor does the job, but I have used all the others I mentioned. It is simply a convenient means of checking code, adding third party icons, and writing to the template.

Custom Ui Editor For Microsoft Office 2010 64 Bit
As most of my ribbon modifications are similar in concept - I tend to use one that matches what I want to achieve as a starting place. You could use Visual Studio (overkill) to prepare your code and that is somewhat more sophisticated, but once you get the hang of the syntax the Custom UI Editor does the job. It doesn't seem to check for spelling of control objects for example.Anyway, so this is a matter of looking up (or knowing) code myself, typing it, then go check if it worked, and then adjust it accordingly. Is that how others do it too? In other words, it's a very manual method?MelinaGraham Mayor - Word MVPPosted via the Communities BridgeGraham Mayor (Microsoft Word MVP 2002-2019) For more Word tips and downloads visit my web site https://www.gmayor.com/Wordpages.htm.
